We are husband-and-wife team, Nick and Martha. Together, we owned and ran a pub for eight years. Martha also has many years’ experience hosting events all over the country and runs venues under Redbank Events.
It has always been a dream to have our own magical events space. We love camping under the stars, so tipis are, to us, the most enchanting place in which to celebrate a special event.
The tipis have a rustic charm that can be dressed up or down. They are decorative in themselves so require very little in the way of accessories, but if you're going for a specific look or feel, we can help.
We have a wide range of items to customise the space with; oak barrels, milk churns, outdoor kadai firebowls, electric wheels used as tables, tiki torches and much more. Twinkling lights on the wooden poles create an alluring atmosphere.
If furniture is needed, we can supply this. Benches and long tables are popular and adding luxurious furs and snug blankets on the benches can keep you warm in the small hours. If benches don't suit your style, they can be replaced with round tables and chivary, ladder backed chairs.
On warm days and evenings you can open the sides to bring the summer in, while in winter you can cosy up inside around our fire pit, wrapped in blankets, to toast marshmallows or sip mulled wine. The tipis offer you flexibility both in space and decoration. Each ‘giant hat’ tipi seats 70 and we can link two together to be spacious enough for 150 standing and 120 seated. They can even house a dancefloor and a stage if you so wish.
We didn’t necessarily go out in search of a tipi wedding.... We hadn’t seen them but We met with Martha and that old saying of ‘people buy people’ springs to mind. Not only did she sell the tipi wedding ethos to us but she promised she’d help make our dream day a reality. After a change of location and seeing the tipis in all their glory, I knew we’d made the right decision. Over the next year Martha helped make our dream day exceed our expectations, she offered me her years and years worth of wedding planning experience and guidance to ensure everything went to plan, nothing was ever too much trouble.
I can’t thank her enough for her chilled out approach and reassurance (which any bride would benefit and appreciate) that she provided not only on the day but running up to it too. She’s absolutely batty but I’m now proud to call her my friend. The tipis really are stunningly magical. Enchanting and so typically English, A fantastic alternative to any Manor House, Castle or garden but by no means a comparison. Our day was everything and more, Thank you so much to Martha and Nick, an absolute dream team xx
When Martha arrived the day before the wedding to suss everything out, I knew it was all going to be ok. She made me feel as if she would be able to sort out any potential problem, and even offered to help the catering staff which at one point would otherwise have been rather overstretched. . She and her staff were courteous, polite, smart and always smiling.
She came up with sone ideas herself and was very adaptable from following my soft drinks recipes to lighting the candles suspended above our home made bar... I felt she would done anything to help ensure the smooth running and success of my daughter’s wedding day and I knew I could rely on her . I can’t recommend Martha and her team enough.
